Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e 4MATIC, marking the introduction of a plug-in hybrid powertrain to its ultra-luxury Maybach range in the country. Priced at ₹3.35 crore, this exclusive model was unveiled on October 5, 2026, with an initial allocation of just 30 units for the Indian market. The S 580e combines a powerful six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and a rechargeable battery, offering the flexibility of electric-only driving for shorter distances and the robust performance of a petrol engine for longer journeys.
Designed with a strong emphasis on rear-seat comfort, the India-spec Maybach S 580e will be available exclusively in a four-seat configuration. The plug-in hybrid system delivers a combined output of 585 hp and 750 Nm of torque, transmitted through a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. It boasts an impressive 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Furthermore, the vehicle offers an electric-only range of up to 98 km (WLTP) and supports both AC and DC fast charging.
Digital enhancements include Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS, an MBUX Superscreen with a front-passenger display, a 3D driver display, and augmented-reality head-up display and navigation. Rear occupants benefit from MBUX controls, while cloud-based AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering enhance ride comfort and handling. Safety features comprise 15 airbags and PRE-SAFE occupant protection systems.
