Maruti Suzuki is working on its second EV, codenamed YMC, an electric MPV with SUV-inspired styling, expected to offer two battery options and a range of up to 500 km.
Tata Motors has significant plans with the Sierra EV, which is set for a production debut on June 30, followed by a market launch in July. This SUV is anticipated to be available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, boasting a claimed driving range of up to 600 km. Additionally, an electric version of the Tata Safari is expected later this year, likely sharing its powertrain and features with the Harrier EV.
Hyundai is also set to enter the entry-level electric SUV segment with its HE1i model, expected to arrive in early 2027. This vehicle will feature a distinctive boxy design, pixel-inspired LED lighting, and an advanced digital interior. It is expected to offer two LFP battery pack options, with the larger one providing a range of 375-400 km.
