Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President of Sales at Yamaha Motor India, highlighted the company's global efforts in alternative fuel technologies, confirming that these innovations would be brought to the Indian market once the enabling environment matures. Yamaha already offers hybrid two-wheelers in India, such as the Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid, and FZ-S Fi Hybrid, which utilize Smart Motor Generator (SMG) technology for improved fuel efficiency and performance.
India is emerging as a critical component of Yamaha's global growth strategy, contributing approximately 10% of its worldwide volume with intentions for further expansion. The company views India not just as a consumer market but also as a future hub for business, innovation, manufacturing, and exports. Yamaha is already exporting its RayZR scooter to European markets and recently launched its first electric scooter, the EC-06, in India.
