Volkswagen India has officially launched the 2026 Taigun facelift, introducing a substantial mid-life update for its popular mid-size SUV. The refresh, which debuted on April 9, 2026, focuses on elevating the SUV's design sophistication, integrating improved in-cabin technology, and refining its powertrain options. The most notable visual changes are at the front, where the Taigun adopts a cleaner, more premium aesthetic inspired by Volkswagen's global SUV lineup, featuring an all-new bumper, slimmer LED headlamps, a connected front LED light bar, and an illuminated Volkswagen logo.
Inside, the updated Taigun addresses previous shortcomings with a larger digital driver's display, an updated touchscreen infotainment system, and enhanced trim and upholstery options, contributing to a higher perceived quality. A panoramic sunroof is among the new feature additions. Mechanically, the SUV retains its 1.0-litre TSI (115 bhp, 18.15 kgm) and 1.5-litre TSI (150 bhp, 25.5 kgm) turbo-petrol engine options. The significant powertrain update is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI variants, replacing the older unit to offer improved cruising refinement, smoother shifts, and better highway efficiency. The 1.5-litre versions continue with the 7-speed DSG.
