Ultraviolette X-47 Electric Motorcycle Embarks on Challenging Himalayan Army Expedition

TL;DR

The Ultraviolette X-47 electric motorcycle has begun a 4,850km Himalayan expedition with the Indian Army to undergo rigorous endurance testing across diverse Indian terrains.

The Ultraviolette X-47 electric motorcycle has commenced a formidable 4,850km Himalayan expedition alongside the Indian Army. This 40-day journey is designed as an intensive endurance test, pushing the electric crossover through considerably tougher environments than its usual road-going adventures. The expedition was flagged off from the Manekshaw Auditorium in New Delhi and will culminate at Walong in Arunachal Pradesh, traversing the challenging Himalayan region, the Gangetic plains, and various parts of Northeast India.

The program serves as a comprehensive endurance demonstration for both the motorcycle and its rider, aiming to assess consistent performance across long distances, changing terrains, and substantially different environmental conditions. The X-47 will face extended highway runs, significant elevation changes, rough surfaces, and unpredictable terrain. Ultraviolette states that X-47 deliveries are already underway, and its retail presence in India is rapidly expanding, with plans to reach over 100 Indian cities by the end of 2026. The company is also simultaneously expanding its fast-charging network to support the growing adoption of its electric motorcycles.
