Toyota Unveils Ninth-Generation Hilux in India with Bold 'Cyber Sumo' Design

TL;DR

Toyota has launched the ninth-generation Hilux in India starting at Rs 31.99 lakh, featuring a bold 'Cyber Sumo' design and an upgraded interior.

Toyota has officially launched the ninth-generation Hilux pickup truck in India, with prices starting at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the popular lifestyle vehicle introduces a fresh exterior design, notably a sharper and more aggressive front fascia dubbed the 'Cyber Sumo face' by Toyota. Test drives for the new Hilux are scheduled to commence on July 29th.

The new Hilux features sleeker LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a redesigned grille with 'TOYOTA' lettering, and a refreshed front bumper. While the side profile largely retains its double-cab pickup form, new alloy wheels and minor design changes to the loading deck are present. The interior has also received significant upgrades, offering a more premium and feature-loaded cabin. The Hilux will continue to rival the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross in the Indian market, with Mahindra also preparing a new lifestyle pickup to join the competition.
