Nissan is preparing for a significant re-entry into India's competitive mid-size SUV segment with the official launch of the Tekton on July 9th. The upcoming SUV is a key product in Nissan's renewed strategy for the Indian market, aiming to challenge established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, and Kia Seltos.
Teasers have hinted at a bold and rugged design, drawing inspiration from the global flagship Nissan Patrol. The Tekton is expected to offer two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter three-cylinder unit producing approximately 98 bhp and 166 Nm of torque, and a more powerful 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine generating 166 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic (7-speed DCT) transmission choices are anticipated. The starting price is expected to be around ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
