Electric vehicle (EV) sales in India presented a varied picture in February 2026 when compared to the preceding month. The total number of registered EVs in February stood at 193,849 units, marking a decrease from 220,208 units recorded in January.
A closer look at the segments reveals a decline in e-two-wheeler sales to 111,709 units and e-rickshaw sales dropping to 34,835 units. Conversely, the e-three-wheeler L5 Passenger category observed an increase, reaching 21,099 units, and e-bus sales also saw a rise to 578 units. In the four-wheeler passenger EV segment, Tata Motors maintained its leading position with over 40% market share, followed by JSW MG Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.
