The Indian government has announced the disbursement of ₹1,350.83 crore in incentives under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the Automobile and Auto Component industry as of November 30, 2025. This significant payout aims to boost domestic manufacturing of Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products and expand India's Electric Vehicle (EV) value chain.
The scheme, with a total outlay of ₹25,938 crore, has successfully approved 82 applicants, including major vehicle manufacturers like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor India, Kia India, Suzuki Motor Gujarat, Ashok Leyland, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Ola Electric, and Piaggio. Component manufacturers such as Bosch, Bharat Forge, and Motherson Sumi are also among the beneficiaries. The incentives are designed to strengthen localization, reduce import dependence, and support the transition to cleaner mobility by requiring companies to achieve at least 50 percent Domestic Value Addition.
