Other categories like E3W L5 Passenger and Cargo also saw healthy increases, with total registered EV sales reaching 279,530 units in March 2026, up from 195,793 in February.
The penetration of EVs in the two-wheeler category notably rose from 6.6% in February to 9.8% in March 2026, and in the four-wheeler passenger car/cab segment, it increased from 3.7% to 5.1% during the same period. For the entire financial year 2025-2026, India recorded 2,452,056 EV sales, showcasing a consistent upward trend in electric vehicle adoption.
