The facility is crucial for localizing EV battery pack production, thereby strengthening India's electric mobility supply chain and fostering employment and advanced skill development in the region. Dheeraj Hinduja, Executive Chairman of Ashok Leyland, emphasized that this move is a significant step in the company's electric mobility journey, complementing its existing range of electric commercial vehicles developed with subsidiary Switch Mobility.
