TL;DR
Musashi India has completed Phase 2 of its Bengaluru plant expansion, significantly increasing production capacity for automotive components for both ICE and EV segments.
Musashi India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's Musashi Seimitsu Industries, has announced the completion of Phase 2 of its Bengaluru plant expansion. This expansion is set to significantly enhance India's automotive and electric mobility ecosystem, with the upgraded unit expected to be fully operational by December 2025.
The expansion adds 11,000 square metres to the existing facility, bringing the total area to 32,000 square metres. This move strengthens the plant's capabilities in forging, machining, and heat treatment. The production capacity for scooter and motorcycle transmission sets has increased from four million to 6.5 million annually, nearly doubling the output value from ₹5.5 billion to ₹10 billion per year.
This upgrade aligns with Musashi India's long-term strategy to serve a broader customer base and expand its presence across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) segments. The facility will now cater to a wider range of motorcycles (100–750cc), scooters (100–125cc), and e-axles for two and three-wheelers, supporting both domestic and export markets.
